Belgian general election, 1830 : ウィキペディア英語版 | Belgian general election, 1830
General elections were held in Belgium in 1830, the first after independence from the Netherlands.〔Nohlen, D & Stöver, P (2010) ''Elections in Europe: A data handbook'', p282 ISBN 978-3-8329-5609-7〕 They were held using a modified form of the Dutch system, whereby 200 members were elected by plurality in constituencies of varying sizes.〔 Suffrage was restricted to taxpaying men over the age of 25, with a higher tax threshold in urban areas than rural ones.〔 Although clergy and academics were exempt from the restrictions, only around 1% of the country's population was eligible to vote.〔 ==References==
